Oh no, you say. I can't do this.
Oh, I would love to do this, but am a bit scared.
Oh, I would really fancy learning this, but not too sure, if it's for me.
Headstand is one of the poses that triggers many feelings, mainly fear-related: fear of falling, breaking your neck or your back, and so forth.
For some, this pose is easily accessible; others will never be able to do the full pose.
But is it important?
Not really. Important is only that you try and do your best towards it.
In this case, it is to strengthen the body and create mobility in the shoulders.
And that's what this workshop is for.
On two Sunday mornings, I would like to help you move towards this more challenging pose and maybe, no pressure, give it a go in a very safe environment.
This is for everyone who is curious about this pose and taking steps towards it.
Will it be hard work? Maybe.
Are you going out of your comfort zone? Most likely, yes.
Will it be rewarding? Absolutely, yes.
We are going to meet
Sunday, May 19th, 10.00 am - 1.00 pm
Sunday, May 26th, 10.00 am - 1.00 pm
@1st Scouts Hall, the usual place.
Is this workshop suitable for beginners? No. You should have some experience. It is more important to be open-minded, curious, and without expectations.
Each session will contain some preparatory work, both strengthening and mobility, and a space for practising a headstand close to the wall, with a headstand stool and blocks. Of course, there will be a proper relaxation to conclude.
We aim to start your journey and continue it during our regular sessions and at home. As always, patience is a virtue :)
You know me, these sessions will be lighthearted and without pressure.
Costs involved: £60
The sessions are in the morning, as the practice needs to be done without much food in your stomach :)
So, are you intrigued? Are you thinking about it? Come and try it, be brave. This will be a small group only.
