Meet Katja

Twenty-two years back, I started Zest for Yoga. Being introduced to Yoga and Ayurveda at the same time, both have been equally important to my life since. As a Yoga teacher and Ayurveda Diet & Lifestyle Consultant, I focus on balancing the qualities of the seasons in my Yoga sessions through workshops (in person and online) & Ayurveda consultations.

My mission is to support busy, health-conscious women who struggle with stress, anxiety & confidence to take charge of their health and well-being with the tools and life skills of Yoga and Ayurveda, whatever the future brings.

I am sharing my experience.

Yoga, the seasonal living of Ayurveda, and my teacher helped me navigate through a decade of ulcerative colitis. I had a busy job as a network administrator, attended my Yoga teacher training, moved to London from Germany, and much more when I fell ill. The options were taking steroids or bringing changes with Yoga and Ayurveda. I decided that spending years taking steroids was not for me and chose Ayurveda.

I changed my diet and my lifestyle and took Ayurvedic herbs. It was not an easy ride; it took years to finally get on top of the inflammation.

It impressed me to experience how significant changes can be achieved with minor adjustments, such as changing mealtimes or introducing hot water.

I have been sharing this ever since.

Is This For You?

Rolling with the seasons is like swimming downstream. The seasons come in a particular order, so do the days.

Flowing with nature comes naturally and uses minimum energy. Working against it is like swimming upstream, which wastes your energy, such as eating heavy meals late in the evening, going to bed late, or eating salads as your main meal in the autumn and winter.

The effects of swimming against the stream can show up like this:

  • Feeling heavy, sluggish and tired in the morning.

  • Feeling too tired to exercise or decide on what to eat.

  • Snacking because you don’t know what to cook or are hungry after meals.

  • Binge eating.

  • Never seeing any improvement, whatever you try.

  • Feeling bloated, your gut won’t stop grumbling no matter what you eat.

  • Experiencing long-term constipation or diarrhoea.

  • Battling hives and eczema, which seem to flare up constantly.

  • Brain fog, your brain can’t remember things,

  • Getting worked up, snapping or shouting at kids and partner over small things.

  • Everything feels too much and overwhelming.

  • Menstruation is irregular, missing, with heavy bleeding, painful, PMS etc.

Do you experience any of these? Then this course if for you!

Here is the best part….

I am looking for busy, health-conscious women who want to learn tools and life skills to become robust, calm & confident no matter what the future brings and are determined to take charge of their physical and mental health.

This is what to look forward to:

  • 9 weekly group calls to get your questions answered.

  • Weekly handouts, food plans, menu planning templates & tracking charts to download and print to keep track of your progress and have information handy.

  • Ongoing access to the course material for the lifetime of this course.

  • Ongoing access to the community to ask questions and exchange experiences and ideas.

  • A free 45-minute consultation at the beginning of the course to discuss how to best structure the time to address your needs.

Wait! That’s not all!!!

No, there is still more to come.

  • join our Annual Autumn Cleanse.

  • Voluntary meditation and breathing practices.

  • Seasonal Yoga videos, including tutorial videos on Surya Namaskar (salute to the sun) morning practice and Chandra Namaskar (salute to the moon) evening practice.

  • Access to a growing “Become a confident Ayurvedic Home Cook” video library.

  • Two fun sessions where we cook and eat together (all online).

“The course helped me break my aversion to cooking, which isn’t something I naturally enjoy. I learnt about food as a concept of ‘nourishing the mind and body’, and this has been transformational in how I now approach food preparation for my family.”

— Anjalee P.
