Are you thinking about Yoga Teacher Training? BWYQ Level 4 Diploma in Teaching Yoga (QCF) is an exciting opportunity to transform your passion for yoga into teaching it to others. Maybe your yoga practice has been a considerable part of your life for a few years and you would like to take it to a totally new level.

What will the course be about?

This 500 hrs course works along the syllabus of the BWYQ Level 4 Diploma in Teaching Yoga (QCF) .

You are offered 250+ contact hours plus intense home study which will lead you to have completed 500 hrs by the end of the course.

Throughout the time you are receiving teaching by the course tutor, which will be a mixture of lectures, discussion and interactive group and partner work. All will be delivered in a non-competitive and nurturing environment, enabling you to become a confident and competent yoga teacher.

 

Requirements

You would need to have a very regular yoga practice of at least 2 years with an approved yoga teachers. Ideally you have completed a BWY Foundation Course 1.

As the course covers a variety of subjects, you would need to have a keen interest in learning about the anatomy and kinesiology of the human body, in learning how to teach and in the philosophy of Yoga. You would need to have an open mind .

Prior to the course, interviews are going to take place and you would have to opportunity to experience a taste of a typical meeting at the Induction Day.

Throughout the course you would need to attend weekly classes which need to be signed off.

After being accepted to the course and prior to its start, you would need to complete the BWY distant learner A&P (Anatomy and Physiology) course.

 

Course Dates and Timing

Informal Introduction Day: 02.07.2017, 11.00 am – 2.30 pm

Introduction Day: 23.07.2017, 10.00 am – 4.30 pm

Apart from a couple of months, the meetings are held the 2nd Sunday of each month, starting September 2017 and finishing Mai 2020. Every meeting is going run from 9.30 am – 5.30 pm with one hour lunch break.

 

Course content

The course covers the principles of kinesiology and practical application of A&P to ensure safe practice and appropriate modification of asanas, the practice and teaching of both pranayama and meditation, teaching of history and philosophy of yoga with reference to four set texts, the energetic aspects of yoga – including, chakras, mudras and bandhas. Furthermore aspects of professional teaching including lesson planning and course planning, assessing your students, evaluating your own teaching, class management and the teaching of adults, and the business of setting up your own yoga class.

The course is divided into 8  Units which will be assessed through formal assignments, marked homework. This is often the scary part of the training, but it really helps you to transform from a yoga practitioner into a yoga teachers.

The syllabus asanas are going to be taught to deliver you an in-depth understanding of their anatomy, how to modify them and their possible effect on the vulnerable areas of the body.

Application process

  • Read the course syllabus
  • Book into the Induction Day and transfer the contribution of £20
  • After the interview and Induction Day put your name down
  • The application form is due 2 days after the Induction Day, together with the non-refundable deposit of £500
  • On acceptance to the course please set up the Standing Order, starting with the first meeting

The venue is 2 mins walking distance from Piccadilly and Metropolitan Line and 10 min walk from Central Line and Chiltern Railways.
